FEC Soliciting Public Comments On Draft Policy Requiring Disclosure Of Exculpatory Evidence To Respondents In Enforcement Matters

The Federal Election Commission’s Weekly Digest reports that the Commission is soliciting comments from the regulated community on the draft policy requiring the Office of General Counsel to disclose exculpatory evidence in its possession to respondents in enforcement matters.  The draft policy was discussed during yesterday’s open meeting.

This policy is long overdue and should be adopted by the Commission.  Comments are due no later than 5 p.m. on May 23, 2011 and may be submitted electronically.  The Weekly Digest containing the announcement can be found here.
