Citizens United – The Sequel

The Washington Post reports that Citizens United – the plaintiff in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case striking down the ban on corporate independent expenditures – has filed an advisory opinion request with the Federal Election Commission (“FEC”) seeking recognition as a press entity.  If the FEC makes such a determination, Citizens United will be exempt from the disclosure requirements upheld by the Supreme Court in Citizens United v. FEC.

I will link to the advisory opinion request as soon as it is available on the FEC’s website.
